SUMMER FESTIVAL 101

Event Information

The 2022 Summer Festival will be held on August 27th at Simon Fraser Universities Burnaby campus in the Convocation Mall.

The location is easily accessible by both transit and driving. Please note that there is NO FREE PARKING available, but paid parking is available throughout the campus.

The event will officially start at 1PM and go till late.

1. What is the Summer Festival?

The Summer Festival is a FREE community event hosted by the SFU Anime Club, the goal is to provide local anime fans with the opportunity to experience a Japanese “Matsuri” style festival right here in Vancouver! The festival is held annually on SFU’s Burnaby Mountain campus in the convocation mall. At the festival itself you can find a variety of festival games, as well as, booths hosted by local artists and vendors selling hand-made art and various other goods. When you get hungry you will find a host of local food vendors cooking up fresh and delicious treats which you can enjoy while watching the various performances and panels occurring on the main stage throughout the event! 

Remember to dress up and participate in our cosplay contest for the chance to win some awesome prizes!

2. Who are we?

The Summer Festival is organized by a group of volunteers that typically comprises of members of the SFU Anime Club, as well as, alumni,  and local community members! The planning committee works in conjunction with the SFU Anime Club and The Simon Fraser Student Society to put on the festival annually, this years festival will be our tenth festival, we look forward to making this one the best yet!
